Craigavon Table Tennis Club was formed in April 2015. It was set up as a joint partnership between Table Tennis Ulster, SportNI, St. Anthony’s Primary School and local Table Tennis enthusiasts.
The main aim of the club is to rebuild and emulate a long ago era of Table Tennis within the wider Craigavon and wider area’s. Around 40 years ago Table Tennis was booming in Portadown, Brownlow and Lurgan. Local players represented Ulster, Northern Ireland and Ireland. These were young people from both sides of the community coming together when times were tough. They trained, practiced and played together. It was a highly competitive but a friendly and supportive environment. They worked and trained hard together and in the end many players reached a level which would be fantastic for this Club to emulate.
Craigavon Table Tennis Club seeks to have at its core the same spirit of that long gone era. First of all we want people of all ages to come along and to enjoy the sport, to learn how to play and to become passionate about the game. At present we have players from Lurgan, Portadown, Waringstown, Donaghcloney, Craigavon, Armagh and Newry.
Table Tennis is a fantastic, fun, amazing sport. You can play singles, doubles, mixed doubles and you can compete against people of all ages.
